Project description

The aim of the project is to increase the sense of security, self-care and independent coping experienced by a memory loss patient living at home through a digital service channel. The digital service channel to be developed in the project will enable a customizable selection of digital products and services from different manufacturers to meet the individual needs of customers. The service channel is designed to support the memory loss patient and their families' sense of security and everyday life at home. In addition, the project will develop a metric that identifies and profiles the individual needs of a memory loss patient to assess perceived safety and everyday management.

The Sense of Security at Home (TuTunKo) project investigates the effects of digital services and applications on the sense of security and everyday life of an elderly person with a memory loss living at home. The aim is to find out what things create a sense of security for a person with an onset memory loss, and also to find out how their daily lives and living at home can be made easier. The aim of the project is to design a personally tailored user-centric digital service channel with services to support the living at home of people with incipient memory loss. Effectiveness metrics are also integrated into the service channel. The target groups of the project are people with memory loss and their relatives, companies and organizations providing digital services. The project is implemented as a parallel project of two research institutes. The research institutes involved are the Technology Research Center VTT and the University of Oulu. The research project is carried out in collaboration with research institutes, cities and companies.
