Rfid and registration
To use print service you need to log in using your university user account and password. Type your account at Canon devices as well as in Webstore always in form account (at) student. You have to log into printing device every time you need to release your prints, scan or copy. You do not need to type your user account and the password after you have registered a rfid identifier (card or sticker) into your use; it is easier to log in just showing your rfid in card reader.
- More information about rfid: General
- How to register the rfid: Registration of the identifier before the first usage
- Remember always to log out: Log out
Watch the video:
- "Registration of the identifier before the first usage"
- select a device-specific version of the video: computer or mobile
- use your user account to login
Printing from workstation
You can print from computers for student use using secure print queues:
- There are several queues, which have been named Studentprint
- You can use whichever of them
- When printing from workstations, default setting is set to print black-and-white on both sides of A4 paper. On workstation you can choose other settings too.
It is possible to release the print at any Canon printer within the service:
- There are several secure printers on Linnanmaa Campus
- Releasing the print is always decreasing your printing quota
Watch the video:
- "Printing and releasing the print"
- select a device-specific version of the video: computer or mobile
- use your user account to login
Printing from mobile device
You can send your file to Studentprint queue from laptop, tablet, smart phone or home computer using O365 e-mail service offered by the University.
Send the file you want to print out by email to: mprints (at) oulu.fi as an attachment
- Sending is allowed only from email address which have oulu.fi ending (students using O365 and the staff), attachments from other email addresses are not printed!
- Supported file formats are: doc, docx, jpeg, jpg, xls, xlsx, pdf, ppt, pptx, rtf, txt. If a file contains macros, the printing of it will not necessarily succeed because of the virus filtration of the e-mail system.
- If the file is coloured, it will be coloured in queue too. When relesing it (=print on paper) you may decide to print it black-and-white instead of colors.
- The message and attachments will appear in print queue as separate files. You decide which of them will be released (=printed on paper). Read more: Logging into Canon device and releasing your print.
- Releasing the print is always decreasing your printing quota

Logging into Canon device and relesing your print
When your print is in queue, log in and release the output at any Canon printer within the service:
- How to log in the printing device: Log in with rfid identifier or use user account when printing, copying or scanning
- When you release the output, it will be printed on paper and removed from the queue (Secure Print > Print+Delete). This decreases your printing quota.
- You can remove the output from the queue if you decide not to print it (Secure Print > Delete). No affect to your printing quota.
- The output will be removed automatically after 4 hours if you did not release it. No affect to your printing quota.
- Remember always to log out: Log out
