Target group: The course is open for all doctoral candidates and master's degree students, especially in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Biosciences and Medical Physics. The contents of the course is relevant for national and international researchers from different fields, who can follow the lectures.
Contents: Special focus is addressed to combining output from different analysing methods, sample preparation techniques, practical limitation of different measurement techniques, and hyperspectral imaging. The best international and national expert lecturers will give the keynote presentations.
Size: 3 ECTS
The students will understand the basic principles of interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter, principles of electronic, vibrational, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopies, the use of different ranges of electromagnetic radiation in imaging and related methods (MRI, CT, X-Ray, optical, electron, and scanning probe microscopies), the principles of diffraction methods, use of Fourier Transform methods, the application of synchrotron radiation for different measurement techniques. Especially to increase the awareness of the possibilities of different methods and the latest developments in spectroscopic and imaging methods.
The course consists of lectures, demos, discussions, and tutorials.
