Alix Varnajot is a PhD student at the Geography Research Unit, involved since the beginning of his thesis with the RELATE Centre of Excellence (Relational and Territorial Politics of Bordering, Identities and Transnationalization). His doctoal thesis focuses on the ontologies of the concept of 'Arctic tourism', its tranformations in the context climate change, as well as the interrelations between the various actors of tourism, other industries and stakeholders operating in the Arctic region. His research interests also includes cruise tourism, the ideas and concepts of remoteness, and the relations between heritage, polar explorations and tourism.
