Anne Pellikka

My research interests focus on science teacher education, particularly on how pre-service teachers' sociohistorical past and future-oriented identity work contribute to the development of their science teacher identities. The participants in my research include class teacher students and subject teacher students, as well as practicing science teachers.

In my recent research, I have focused on thinking skills and knowledge dimensions, particularly in geography curricula, and examined the concept of geomedia as part of geography education in collaboration with researchers from the CRITICAL consortium.

I work as a teacher educator in the Faculty of Education and Psychology, within the Teacher Education, School and Society research unit, and I am a member of SIRENE, a multidisciplinary research network focusing on environmental education.
