Biography
I work as an Academy of Finland postdoctoral researcher in the Space Physics and Astronomy Research Unit.
My research focuses to understanding the interaction between solar wind and the Earth's magnetic field. This interaction leads to aurora and many orther phenomena in the near-Earth space. The focus of my research is to understand the coupling between different solar wind parameters and disturbances in the Earth's magnetic field. Detailed understanding of this coupling helps for example in furture space weather forecasting.
I use large data sets from various different ground-based and satellite instruments. I often use different statistical techniques, including data mining methods as well as numerical modeling.
