Leea Putula is the new vice chair and Minna Isomursu the professor member of the Collegium

Leea Putula has been selected as the first Vice Chair of the Collegium of University of Oulu during its meeting on February 12, 2024. Students proposed Putula, as Lotta Leinonen’s term in the Collegium ended on December 31, 2023.

According to the University Regulations, the Collegium elects its Chair and two Vice Chairs from among its members, ensuring representation from each of the university community's three groups: professors, other staff, and students. Professor Helka-Liisa Hentilä continues as the Chair, and University Lecturer Juha Ahola as the second Vice Chair of the Collegium.

The Collegium noted that Professor Minna Isomursu, previously a substitute member, will take the position of the regular professor member for the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, replacing Olli Silvén. In addition, Collegium appointed Professor Timo Ojala as the substitute member for Isomursu, based on the faculty's recommendation. Olli Silvén resigned from the Collegium upon retiring at the end of 2023.
