Still time to apply – tutor and kummi applications extended until 15 February
As a tutor you will be doing meaningful work to support new students.
“Becoming a tutor is definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I got to meet so many new people – not only first-year students, but I also made many new friends among other tutors. I think it’s great to be able to help new students on their journey into university life!”
Student tutors help new degree and exchange students take their first steps in university studies. They introduce students to university life, the campus, and fellow students – making the start of their studies smoother and more enjoyable.
Tutors guide new students in small groups at the beginning of the academic year, with the tutoring period focusing especially on early autumn 2026 (or early spring 2027, if you are guiding exchange students arriving for the spring semester).
Tutors receive training for their role as well as support throughout the tutoring process. They also receive compensation for their work, and you may receive study credits depending on the faculty. As a tutor, you will also gain valuable experience for working life, as well as a competence badge that you can use to demonstrate your skills, for example when applying for jobs.
“Tutoring was an opportunity to develop myself together with new people.”
