Students shared their best study tips at the Hurmos daytime event – community and rest were highlighted

The autumn semester of student life once again kicked off with the Hurmos event, which brought together thousands of students for two days. The daytime program, held at the Linnanmaa campus, introduced students to student organizations, companies, and services supporting studies and well-being, while Kuusisaari offered a festival atmosphere with music and community.

On Thursday, September 11 at the Linnanmaa campus daytime event, students walked around different service providers’ stands, collected stamps in their event passport and getting to know the diverse activities on campus. The program gave them chances to meet new people and even find new hobbies.

The Learning Support and Well-being Centre participated with its own stand, where students could share their best study tips. The activity featured an interactive Padlet wall with the question “What helps you study?” which gathered plenty of responses. Students especially highlighted the importance of rest and sleep, the support of study peers, as well as time management and leisure activities. In addition, students had the chance to view and like other responses submitted, which were displayed on a screen at the stand. The answers served as inspiration for other students, especially new ones, and the activity was created inspired by Ask Me! campaign. You can read all the responses through this link: Mikä sinua auttaa opiskelussa? Jaa vinkkisi! / What helps you study? Share your tips!

In addition, Learning Support and Well-being Centre's stand, students were able to learn about a variety of support services, such as guidance offered by study psychologists and career counselors and UniMove’s sports services.
