During this spring, the University of Oulu's counselling services organize a variety of study groups, workshops, and events open to all students to support their studies and job search.

Whether you are a first-year student or on the verge of graduation, you are welcome to join our activities! 🩵

Below you will find short introductions of the activities organized during the spring by the University of Oulu's counselling services. Please check the more detailed timetables and the instructions for registration on the university's website.

Activities:

1. Work-ready workshops
Career Centre offers you a variety of workshops that prepare you for the work market and help you to stand out from the crowd. The themes of the workshops are:

  • Skills and Competences, CV
  • Job Interview, elevator pitch, salary negotiations
  • Personal Brand
  • LinkedIn and Networking

2. Beat the procrastination workshop
Let's beat procrastination together in a workshop organised by study psychologists! The workshop will cover different tips and exercises to help you get things done, even when it feels difficult. Register for the workshop by 31.1.2024. More detailed timetables and info for registering on the website.

3. Stay active events
The focus of Stay Active events is on supporting your study ability and well-being and simultaneously meeting new people and learning to stay active during your academic studies. In our events, you will get to meet a career counselor, a sports coordinator, and a study psychologist. You have to register for each activity separately.

4. Living and Working in Finland course, 2 ECTS - sign up in Peppi!
During the course, we will delve into, and discuss some of the main characteristics of Finnish life and culture and important issues to be aware of while living and working in Finland.

5. Cultural Adaptation Support
Have you just moved to Finland and started your studies here? Do you find that adapting to a new environment affects you in unexpected ways? If you think you might need help with your adaptation process or culture shock, or if you just want to talk to someone about your situation, we are here to support you.

You are welcome to the Cultural Adaptation Support sessions at Linnanmaa campus, where you can come and talk about your situation, ask questions, and get support to your adaptation process:
