Project description

The new analytical equipment for living cells enable detailed gathering of information on the properties of human and animal cells, bacteria, and small particles. This advancement supports research on biomedicine, cell biology, environmental aspects, and diagnostic processes.

The project includes the purchase of an imaging flow cytometer sorter capable of identifying the full fluorescence spectrum, alongside an analytical spectral flow cytometer for detailed cell analysis. Additionally, equipment for continuous live-cell imaging will be acquired, increasing capacity and the analysis capabilities of the existing Incucyte S3 device.

Beyond its use in medical and bioscience research, these new investments also facilitate cross-disciplinary collaborations, particularly in the analysis of small particles and bacteria in water and environmental samples. Interested parties are encouraged to reach out to the project's contact persons for more information.

The equipment will be placed at the Kontinkangas campus, where it will be readily accessible to researchers and businesses alike.

For more detailed information about the live-cell analysis equipment, please visit the Translational Cell Biology Service Unit (TBC core) website. Further information on the Kontinkangas research infrastructure can also be found through the provided link.
