Project description

The project establishes permanent collaborative structures connecting creative industry incubators, regional business development organizations, and SMEs. The core idea is to create a scalable, cross-border innovation and support ecosystem that helps CCI companies leverage digitalization, access new markets, and utilize improved business development services. Key elements include integrating Sámi values and developing tailored support models that address the specific needs of Sámi entrepreneurs—focusing on market access, funding opportunities, and digital business models.

Project partners include Uminova eXpression (Sweden), Nord University and Kunnskapsparken Bodø (Norway), Vaasa University of Applied Sciences, and the Kerttu Saalasti Institute at the University of Oulu.

The project's main objectives are:

  • To strengthen the expertise and service capabilities of business support organisations through training, mentoring, and digital tools, and to develop unified operational models for supporting SMEs.
  • To establish a permanent cross-border incubator and business network, to establish cooperation models among stakeholders in Sweden, Finland, and Norway, and to build a digital collaboration and networking platform for companies and development organisations.
  • To develop and implement a pilot model providing creative sector SMEs with mentoring, expert support, and networking opportunities.
  • To generate an evidence base to support decision-making, to produce a CCSI (Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries) index and report, and to develop policy recommendations and development plans for regional stakeholders.
  • To ensure the project's long-term impact by integrating its results into regional strategies, while taking into account Sámi perspectives and the specific needs of cultural entrepreneurship.
