Energy-wise Port

EVISA

The EVISA project develops an easy-to-use self-assessment tool for the ports, allowing them to draw up their own strategic energy management plans, assess the size of their environmental footprint and find the right, port-specific solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental loads.

Project description

The efficient and sustainable port of the future will be resource-wise and low carbon, which requires the development and active utilisation of carbon-free technologies and energy-efficient solutions in ports.  The EVISA project develops an easy-to-use self-assessment tool for the ports, allowing them to draw up their own strategic energy management plans, assess the size of their environmental footprint and find the right, port-specific solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental loads.

EVISA-model for ports

The EVISA project develops in cooperation with the partner ports and the Finnish Port Association the Energy-wise port model (EVISA-model), which consists of four self-assessment tools and one planning tool. With the help of these tools, small and medium-sized ports can analyse current operations and find out which actions would fit their specific circumstances to help them to develop in a more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient direction.

The tools are available and can be download from this site.

The project group will present the EVISA tools during the Satamapäivät in Joensuu (21. - 22.09.2022), but also as part of the project's final seminar and workshop, which is organised at the University of Oulu. on 12.10.2022.  The event's programme includes - besides a dedicated workshop on how to use these tools - a seminar, which addressed green transition of the ports.  More information about the seminar and the registration link can be found on the event page

The different parts of the EVISA-model: energy mapping, renewable energy potential assessment, carbon footprint calculation and strategic energy management planning.
