Project description
The efficient and sustainable port of the future will be resource-wise and low carbon, which requires the development and active utilisation of carbon-free technologies and energy-efficient solutions in ports. The EVISA project develops an easy-to-use self-assessment tool for the ports, allowing them to draw up their own strategic energy management plans, assess the size of their environmental footprint and find the right, port-specific solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental loads.

EVISA-model for ports
The EVISA project develops in cooperation with the partner ports and the Finnish Port Association the Energy-wise port model (EVISA-model), which consists of four self-assessment tools and one planning tool. With the help of these tools, small and medium-sized ports can analyse current operations and find out which actions would fit their specific circumstances to help them to develop in a more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient direction.
The EVISA tools are available on separate site, which can be accessed via the link at the bottom of page. The project group presented the tools during the Satamapäivät in Joensuu (21. - 22.09.2022), but also during project's final seminar and workshop, which was organised at the University of Oulu on 12.10.2022.
