Project description

The University of Lapland and the University of Oulu co-organize 25 credits education in management of health and welfare promotion.

The education is intended for experts who are involved in the management of health and welfare promotion in various fields and who are already working in these positions, and who want to strengthen their management competences.



Objectives of education – after completion of the studies the student

  • is able to perceive the phenomena of managing health and welfare promotion from a multidisciplinary perspective
  • is able to define and structure the concepts related to managing health and welfare promotion
  • understand the perspectives through which welfare and managing health and welfare promotion can be viewed
  • identify the practical preconditions for managing health and welfare promotion
  • is able to assess the developmental needs of managing health and welfare promotion

Project results

The studies consist of five web-based modules.

The studies focus on the following content areas related to managing health and welfare promotion:

  • structures and strategic foundation managing health and welfare promotion
  • interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership and networks
  • promoting participation
  • knowledge- and evidence-based management and effectiveness
  • changing environments
