Project description
The aim of this project is to organize two web-courses (20 participants/course) for influential distance counseling, therapy and consultation. After the course, the participants will be able to offer and organize their services via network connections. The target group consists of mental health, substance abuse and crisis intervention micro-entrepreneurs in Northern Finland. The courses are organized totally as network studies utilizing different remote systems. Among other methods, there will be live webinars, videos, lectures and peer group meetings in the courses. The participants are trained to use net-based remote systems in their distance counseling, therapy and consultation. Courses include information about technical issues and distance pedagogy and models. Participants will also study the most suitable software and systems in terms of patient safety.
Project results
As a result of this project, the participants will gain new know-how to accomplish their business also remotely especially during this exceptional situation caused by corona and also after that as a part of their services. Besides that, it can be guaranteed that also sparsely populated areas can get digital counseling services.

The project is conducted in collaboration with the research unit of nursing science at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oulu. Training services are also bought by entrepreneurs.
