Anna Teern

My research focuses on intelligent systems that can learn and adapt through both machine-based methods and interaction with people. I am particularly interested in evolvable knowledge graphs, hybrid intelligence, and knowledge engineering, and in how these approaches can support intelligent systems in representing, using, and updating knowledge over time.

My doctoral research examined how evolvable knowledge graphs can be designed and developed, with applications in intelligent assistants and decision support. More broadly, I am interested in how human and machine intelligence can complement each other, how knowledge can evolve through the use of intelligent systems, and how these ideas can be translated into practical solutions in collaboration with organisations and industry.
