My research focuses on hydrology, water resources and sustainable water management considering various local and global changes such as climate change, land use and energy transition. The research focuses on understanding and modelling the hydrological cycle using numerical and data-driven approaches. Hydrological studies include process studies using isotopes, remote sensing and in situ observations. The research is often carried out in collaboration with other scientific and engineering fields at the University of Oulu and elsewhere to provide sustainable solutions for water management.
