In my dissertation research, I have investigated the digital competence of healthcare professionals and the aspects associated with it. In my research, I have developed digital health competence and aspects associated with it self-assessment instruments, which have been used to map the digital competence of healthcare professionals nationally and internationally. My research allows for a systematic mapping of digital competence, which can be used to develop basic and continuing training and other methods of competence development to meet the competence gaps and needs of health professionals. In my postdoctoral research, I will investigate the competences of health professionals in the use of AI.
Currently, I am also working in the Stay Healthy Through Ageing (STAGE) project, coordinated by the University of Oulu, which studies human ageing with multimorbidity and develops personalised AI-based solutions that support health and well-being. As a representative of the University of Oulu, I am responsible for the design and implementation of co-creation activities with project partners and patient and public involvement (PPI) in the development of AI-based solutions to support healthy ageing.
