Jostine Puthenveettil Joby

Jostine P. Joby is a Project Researcher in the RamanProSeq project at Dr. Jianan Huang’s lab of Nanophotonic Biosensors at the University of Oulu. Jostine conducts doctoral research at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology under the mentorship of Prof. Amit Meller. His primary scientific inquiry concerns the engineering of ultrathin solid-state nanopores designed for high-bandwidth biomolecular sensing. Prior to his doctoral work, Joby’s research focused on investigating the efficacy of gold nanostars and graphene-hybrid platforms for precision optical trapping, as well as developing substrates for Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) to improve molecular detection sensitivity. As a key contributor to the RamanProSeq project, Joby is currently focused on fabrication and optic-electrical measurements of plasmonic nanopipette architectures. This work aims to couple nanopore translocation with Raman spectroscopy, providing a robust framework for the realization of single-molecule protein sequencing.
