Laura Jussinniemi

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher (PhD, Medicine; M.H.Sc.) in the EU-funded IMPROVE PRETERM consortium at the University of Oulu, Clinical Medicine Research Unit, Lifecourse medicine and birth cohort research group.

My current research focuses on the long-term effects of antenatal corticosteroid exposure using Nordic register-based data. My doctoral research focused on cardiometabolic and pulmonary health among adults born preterm with very low birth weight entering middle-age. This work was conducted in close collaboration with the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway.
