Lifecourse Medicine and Birth Cohort Research Group

The mission of our multidisciplinary research group is to understand how and why conditions during the fetal period and childhood affect our lifelong and next-generation health and human capital. We focus in particular on the lifelong health of small vulnerable newborns – people born preterm or small for gestational age. To achieve this, we use diverse but complementary types of two- or three-generation birth cohort studies in high and low resource settings.
