Mikael Brix

Dr. Brix is a post-doctoral researcher, project manager, and vice-leader of the Medical Imaging in Diagnostics, Algorithms and Software (MIDAS) research group at the Research Unit of Health Sciences and Technology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oulu, Finland. He is also a physicist at the Department of Diagnostics, Oulu University Hospital, Oulu, Finland.

Dr. Brix's research focuses on X-ray detectors, computed tomography physics, and reconstruction algorithm development. His work covers fundamental research on physical phenomena, but he is also motivated to see the utilization of the developed techniques in diagnostic practice and, therefore, actively collaborates with industrial partners and diagnostic experts. He received the Young Investigator Award of the Radiological Society of Finland in 2023.
