Outi Uimari

Outi Uimari currently works as a Clinical Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Oulu University. Her research focuses on two common gynaecological conditions endometriosis and uterine fibroids (leiomyoma) using classical and genetic epidemiological methodology. She defended her PhD thesis entitled Epidemiological and familial risk factors of uterine leiomyoma development in 2017. Outi works as a part time clinician gynaecologist at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and she is a contributing member of the multidisciplinary endometriosis team at the Oulu University Hospital. She also works as a visiting scientist for the Oxford Endometriosis CaRe Centre. Previously Outi held a clinical research fellow’s post in Oxford during years 2013 and 2016.
