                                    Outi Uimari currently works as a University Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Oulu University. Her research focuses on two common gynaecological conditions endometriosis and uterine fibroids (leiomyoma) using classical and genetic epidemiological methodology. She defended her PhD thesis entitled Epidemiological and familial risk factors of uterine leiomyoma development in 2017 and she was granted the title of associate professorship in clinical epidemiology in 2023. Outi works as a part time clinician gynaecologist. She also holds an Honorary Research Fellowship with the Nuffield Department of Women's and Reproductive Health at the University of Oxford, UK. Previously Outi held a Clinical Research Fellow’s post in Oxford during years 2013 and 2016.
Outi Uimari offers teaching for multiple courses at the Faculty of Medicine. She has extensive qualifications in university pedagogy.
