B.E. (Civil Engg), M.S. (Structural & Geotech Engg), Ph.D. (Building Materials Tech)
Senior Researcher/ Adjunct Professor
Sustainable construction Materials (Circular economy)

Senior Researcher/ Adjunct Professor (Docent) with more than 10 years of experience in the research, teaching, and project management within academia. Her main focus area is about upcycling industrial sidestreams into sustainable construction materials.
At present, She works on the treatment methods of incinerated ash and its application as granulated aggregate/ alkali-activated materials in earth construction.
She also works with mine tailings to improve their reactivity as a binder material/ ceramics and recycling of demolished concrete as secondary raw materials in concrete production. Enhancing and understanding the durability of the sustainable alternatives, carbon capture and storage, environmental impact assessments are recent developments in her research.
In the future, Dr. Perumal would like to explore in the topics related to circular construction methods, earth construction, and indoor build environment, within the scope of construction materials!
