Supriya K C

I am a Doctoral Researcher in the Water, Energy and Environmental Engineering Research Unit, working within the Hydrosystems Engineering & Management research group led by Professor Ali Torabi Haghighi.

My research focuses on understanding the impacts of climate change on agricultural productivity in Nordic environments. I develop and apply integrated modeling approaches to analyze crop yield dynamics, crop phenology, agrohydrological processes, and agricultural adaptation under changing climatic conditions. It further aims to advance understanding of climate-water-crop interactions and support the development of climate-resilient agricultural systems in northern environments.

I have a multidisciplinary background in civil engineering, interdisciplinary water resources, and environmental engineering. I hold an MSc. in Interdisciplinary Water Resources Management from Nepal Engineering College, Nepal, and an MSc. in Environmental Engineering, specializing in Hydrology and Water Management, from the University of Oulu, Finland. My academic interests lie at the intersection of climate science, agriculture, hydrology, and sustainable environmental management.

Before pursuing doctoral research, I gained several years of academic experience in Nepal as a lecturer in civil engineering programs, teaching water-related subjects including fluid mechanics, hydraulics, hydrology, and irrigation engineering. This experience provided a strong foundation in water engineering and hydrological sciences and continues to inform my interdisciplinary approach to research.
