Use of Electronic Resources

The University of Oulu researchers, teachers, students and other staff members may use the electronic resources off campus by logging in to the Oula-Finna portal using their University of Oulu username (Haka Login).

How to login to off-campus services?

Option 1.

• Go to Oula-Finna and login with your student or staff username and password (Haka Login).

Option 2.

• Search for e-journal, e-book or database in Oula-Finna and click the link. You will be prompted for your university username and password (Haka Login), before the access is granted.

Option 3.

• Search for e-journal, e-book or database in Subject guides and click the name. You will be prompted for your university username and password (Haka Login), before the access is granted.

The Library’s server for off-campus access, EZProxy, needs to be able to pass through ports 8080 and 9443.

The library acquires e-resources both through the FinELib Consortium of the National Library of Finland and directly from the publishers or vendors. The license agreements for e-resources specify the rights and the restrictions on usage, such as printing, citing and creating links. Commercial use of e-resources is prohibited. Only the students and staff of Oamk are allowed remote access.

How to login?

• Search for e-journal, e-book or database in Resource guides and click the name. You will be prompted for your Oamk username and password (Haka Login), before the access is granted.

Option 3.

• Some databases require a collective user name and password. You can request them via chat or by sending email to kirjasto@oulu.fi. The user name and password for the password bank are given only to students and staff of Oamk.

Some materials are available only in the campus area.

• browse and perform searches
• print out or save search results in moderation for your own study and research (for non-commercial purposes)
• print out or save individual articles or parts of text in moderation
• send via e-mail, or as a hardcopy, individual articles to another individual for personal use in the spirit of academic communication

• use the resource, or parts of it, for commercial purposes
• distribute, sell or adapt the resource, neither produce derivative works nor pass on the material to anyone other than an individual with the right to have access to it
• remove or alter the names of the authors of the material or the publisher’s copyright markings, nor any other identification data and restrictions
• use data mining programmes
• systematically copy or print material, nor republish the material in some other form
