Degree requirements

The Human Sciences Doctoral Programme provides the following doctoral degrees:

  • Doctor of Philosophy
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Education)
  • Doctor of Science (Economic and Business Administration) 
 

Students who join the program become members of a community of interdisciplinary research of human sciences. Doctoral education for students enrolled in the Human Sciences:
Archaeology, Cultural anthropology, English philology, German philology, History, History of Ideas and science, Information studies, Literature, Logopedics, Nordic philology, Saami culture, Saami language, Finnish language, Scientific communication, Education, Education psychology, Musical education, Management, International business, Marketing, Logistics, Geography

The doctoral degree includes research work for the thesis, the publication and public defence of the thesis, and, depending on the discipline, 20 to 50 ECTS study credits. The doctoral student follows the degree requirements of his or her major subject. In addition, the doctoral students are required to

  1. participate in a set of activities arranged by EUDA-DP before they graduate (this will be defined later by EUDA-DP Management Group) and  
  2. conduct international activity (e.g. research visit, international conferences).
