Tuuli Matila

My research interests include contemporary archaeology, visual studies and heritage politics. I am especially interested in affects and emotions and how they shape politics and conflicts. My dissertation examined Finnish World War II military photographs and their uses in media and museums. In my postdoctoral research I have employed archaeological and material culture methods to study both the built heritage and everyday life during the Cold War.
