Education Dean Marika Iivari, Programme Director Antti Kauppila and Education Designer Elisa Mejías from Oulu Business School visited France in October to meet future exchange students from emlyon business school. The pre-orientation sessions, held in Lyon and at emlyon's Paris campus, introduced students to their upcoming studies in Oulu and helped them prepare for their exchange periods.

Students from the MSc in Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship (GIE) programme will arrive in Oulu in January 2027 for a three-month exchange period lasting until March. This will be the fourth time the programme has been organised in collaboration with emlyon business school.

The collaboration will also expand to a new Master's programme, as students from the MSc in Strategic Intelligence and Global Risks (SIGR) programme will take part in an exchange period in Oulu for the first time. Their two-month study period will take place from March to April 2027.

The collaboration with emlyon business school offers international students an opportunity to explore teaching and learning at Oulu Business School while gaining insights into the region's business and innovation environment. During previous GIE exchange periods, students have explored topics such as innovation management, business ecosystems and emerging technologies, as well as visited local companies and research environments.

The inclusion of the SIGR programme further strengthens the partnership between the two business schools and expands opportunities for international student mobility in Oulu.
