LSR funding for GEOPROS project on geopolitical uncertainty and techpreneurship

As geopolitical tensions reshape the global technology landscape, European techpreneurs face growing pressure to adapt and reposition their businesses. This project, funded by the Finnish Foundation for Economic Education (LSR), examines how startups can withstand shocks, strengthen regional economies, and align innovation with societal values amid geopolitical uncertainty.

The “GEOPROS – geopolitical transformation and entrepreneurial repositioning” project explores how political and policy factors, such as trade tensions, sanctions, and regulation, shape market entry decisions while examining the impact of emerging technologies and compliance frameworks, including the EU AI Act, on business models. GEOPROS also investigates how broader social, cultural, and economic changes influence entrepreneurial strategies and innovation.

LSR has awarded a research group grant for a two-year project to Principal Investigator, Docent Marika Iivari and Postdoctoral Researchers Fan Wang and Oxana Gisca. By combining policy and market analysis with entrepreneurs’ lived experiences, GEOPROS aims to show how geopolitical uncertainty can be transformed into a driver of resilient and globally adaptive innovation.
