Research environment

Biocenter Oulu (established in 1986) is one of the four strategic focus institutes at the University of Oulu. Biocenter Oulu supports high-quality research and coordinates multidisciplinary research activities and doctoral training on the University´s strategic focus area Lifelong health and promotes interdisciplinary networking of research groups as well as co-operation with national and international partners.

Medical Research Center Oulu (MRC Oulu) is a strategic research organisation of the Northern Ostrobothnia Hospital District and the University of Oulu. MRC Oulu offers a multidisciplinary research environment for clinical, translational and health care socioeconomic research. Currently MRC Oulu consists of several different research groups from the University of Oulu, Oulu University Hospital, and Oulu University Hospital ERVA-area.
