Dr Adesanya is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Fibre and Particle Engineering Research Unit. He started working in the unit as an Intern in 2014 after which he proceeded with his Master's thesis in 2015 in the same unit.
After graduating in 2015, Adesanya started as a Doctoral researcher working on the valorization of industrial residues in alkali-activated materials and in hydraulic binder as an alternative to Portland cement. He finished his PhD in Process and Environmental Engineering in 2019.
His current research focus is on the utilization and improving the reactivity of steel slags as supplementary cementitious materials in cement, synthesis and hydration of high iron-containing ferrite cement clinkers, carbon sequestration in cements, alternative cements (alkali-activated materials, Geopolymers, etc.) using industrial residues towards reducing the environmental footprints of cement and concrete sector. He has published several research articles in peer-reviewed international journals and presented at international conferences.
