Dr. Adesanya is a Senior Research Fellow/Docent at the Fibre and Particle Engineering Research Unit, dedicated to developing eco-friendly solutions for the cement industry. His current research focus is on:

  • Utilization of steel slags in cementitious applications: synthesizing pathways in enhancing materials dissolution i.e. steel slags as supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) in cement.
  • Utilization of steel slags as raw materials in iron-rich cement clinkers: Aliteite-Ferrite-rich cement systems and improving ferrite dissolution via ligands complexation and carbonation.
  • Carbon capture in binders: Exploring methods to enhance, capture, and store carbon dioxide within cement binders.
  • Alternative Cement Binders: Research on alternative types of cement like geopolymers and alkali-activated binders that utilize industrial byproducts, minimizing the environmental impact of construction.

Dr. Adesanya's research contributes significantly to reducing the environmental footprint of the cement and concrete sector. He actively shares his findings through publications in prestigious international journals and presentations at international conferences.
