Rauli Svento is Emeritus professor of economics at the Department of Economics in Oulu Business School. His main research interest are in environmental and energy economics, regional economics and health economics. Related to health economics professor Svento has collaborated with the North_Finland Birth Cohort researchers and the Social Science Genetic Association Cohort (SSGAC). He has developed and managed the Oulu University Profi4 project GenZ (https://beta.oulu.fi/en/strengthening-human-capabilities-digital-era) He has managed two large research projects of the Finnish Academy related to the role of renewable intermittent energy sources in the energy system (www.bcdcenergia.fi). He has headed the department and has served as dean of the school and vice president of the university.
