Martti Ahtisaari Institute

Martti Ahtisaari Institute is a research and education unit within Oulu Business School. We aim to create new knowledge on responsible business and global economy. Our research targets include responsible, digital and data-intensive businesses, changing value creation, capture and sharing ecosystems and the emerging real-time access economy.

Activities

Martti Ahtisaari Institute carries out executive education programmes, as well as entrepreneurship, responsible business, and business analytics education at the Oulu Business School. We also arrange events that provide a forum for discussions and a platform for new insights into the development of the economy and business life.

Focus areas and research projects

Our research in the Martti Ahtisaari Institute focuses on challenges of responsible businesses, especially on changing businesses and ecosystems in the global markets. The goal of our research and development activities is to produce new scientifically rigorous and relevant knowledge and foster innovations. In addition, we actively participate in several domestic and international joint projects targeting the following fields:

  • Business models and evolution of businesses
  • Digital business
  • Competences on the growth of businesses and entrepreneurship
