Maria Väisänen

I am a terrestrial ecologist with a specific interest on herbivore-plant-soil interactions and their impacts on biogeochemical processes. I am interested in how climate change and environmental context shape and control these interactions at local scales. As study systems, I use arctic-alpine and/or permafrost-affected tundra ecosystems as well as boreal forests and peatlands.
