Abate Bekele Belachew

My research focuses on understanding and enhancing comprehensive well-being in school children. Applying my background in Biomedical Data Science and Epidemiology, I analyze population-based, register-based, and intervention datasets to identify inequality factors affecting students' mental, physical, and socio-pedagogical well-being. I have investigated important public health issues, particularly tracking development from early life through the life course perspective to inform evidence-based interventions.

Research interests

  • Life course modelling of health and wellbeing
  • Inequality and wellbeing
  • Gene-environment interactions and health
