Professor of biosensors
Biosensors and microfluidics
Dr. Elbuken received his B.Sc. degree from Bilkent University Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2004 and his Ph.D. degree from University of Waterloo Mechanical Engineering in 2009. After a two-year post-doctoral position at University of Waterloo, Dr. Elbuken worked at Abbott Point-of-Care as a senior scientist in the R&D department. In 2013, he switched back to industry and established the microfluidics and biosensors research group at Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center as an assistant professor. Dr. Elbuken received his Docent title from Electrical and Electronics Engineering. His research focuses on micro/nano systems, lab-on-a-chip systems, biosensors and biomedical diagnostic technologies. He has co-authored over 40 refereed journal articles, 2 patents, 2 book chapters, several conference proceedings and devised several prototypes for point-of-care diagnostics.
