Project Researcher
Cosmic-ray muography, geoscience, mining, mineral exploration, economic geology

I’m a multidisciplinary exploration geologist with 30 years of experience in geoscience, specialising in (1) mineral deposit geology and the exploration of precious and base metals, (2) exploration technologies and techniques, and more recently (3) cosmic-ray muography, a novel multidimensional density-mapping geophysical method.
I am equally driven by technological innovation and its practical applications. I thrive on organising and motivating teams, building connections, and fostering collaboration. I currently work as a researcher and project geologist in the Regional Excellence (REx) research group at the Kerttu Saalasti Institute, where I contribute to international R&D initiatives and apply new methods to advance regional sustainability and vitality. My work is enriched by close collaboration with diverse experts and partners, and I value the open, multidisciplinary environment that links research, development, and regional impact.
