SAT and ACT Test Results

All our Bachelor's programmes use SAT as one of the selection methods. These programmes are:

• International Business Management, Bachelor's Programme in International Business Management, Bachelor of Science (Economics and Business Administration) (3+2 y)
• Information Processing Science, Degree Programme in Digitalisation, Computing and Electronics, Bachelor and Master of Science (3y+2y)
• Electronics and Communications Engineering, Degree Programme in Digitalisation, Computing and Electronics, Bachelor and Master of Science (Technology) (3y+2y)
• Computer Science and Engineering, Degree Programme in Digitalisation, Computing and Electronics, Bachelor and Master of Science (Technology) (3y+2y)

Additionally, one of our Bachelor's programmes also uses ACT (as well as SAT) as one of the selection methods. This programme is:

• International Business Management, Bachelor's Programme in International Business Management, Bachelor of Science (Economics and Business Administration) (3+2 y)

Applicants who are applying with a SAT or ACT test score must verify their educational documents by July 10, 2025 at 15:00 / 3pm (GMT+3):

SAT Test Results for Bachelor's Programmes at The University of Oulu

In our Bachelor's programmes applicants applying with qualification other than the Finnish matriculation examination, IB-, EB- or DIA-/RP-degree are selected based on SAT-test results.

These programmes are:

• International Business Management, Bachelor's Programme in International Business Management, Bachelor of Science (Economics and Business Administration) (3+2 y)
• Information Processing Science, Degree Programme in Digitalisation, Computing and Electronics, Bachelor and Master of Science (3y+2y)
• Electronics and Communications Engineering, Degree Programme in Digitalisation, Computing and Electronics, Bachelor and Master of Science (Technology) (3y+2y)
• Computer Science and Engineering, Degree Programme in Digitalisation, Computing and Electronics, Bachelor and Master of Science (Technology) (3y+2y)

If you are applying to these programmes with your SAT test results, you must upload a copy of your test results on the online application by 31 March, 2025, 15:00/3pm (GMT+3).

Please note that if you are using your SAT test as proof of language skills, you must upload a copy of your test results on the online application by 29 January, 2025, 15:00/3pm (GMT+2).

Important things to remember when using SAT test results

• All official results of the SAT tests must be delivered to University of Oulu directly from the test organizer in one of these two ways:
  • You can order an electronic score report to be sent to University of Oulu
    • University of Oulu ID code (9079) must be included in the SAT registration form.
  • OR You can order a paper score report to be sent by post to University of Oulu directly form the test organizer.
    • Please note that due to changes in the SAT test system, applicants can no longer receive paper score reports from August 2022 onwards!
• If you have completed more than one SAT test, only the test with the highest total score (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing + Mathematics sections) will be considered. University of Oulu does not accept SAT Superscore.
• If you have taken the tests earlier you must order the score report to be sent to the University of Oulu directly form the test organizer.
• Due to changes in the SAT test system, applicants can no longer receive paper score reports from August 2022 onwards! All score reports are electronic and must be directed to the University of Oulu in the electronic system (see detailed instructions below).
• Only SAT tests taken after 2016 are acceptable.

Please note that SAT-tests can be fully booked before the final registration date, so please make sure to register for the test well in advance. University of Oulu does not organize SAT tests or answer inquiries concerning the tests. More information on taking the SAT tests in Finland and abroad.

Applicants who are applying with an SAT/ACT test score OR in the Certificate based selection must verify their educational documents by July 10, 2025 at 15:00 / 3pm (GMT+3):

Note: As there are a limited amount of study places available, achieving a minimum score does not automatically result in being admitted. If several applicants have received the same score, the applicant with the highest score in the mathematics section of the SAT test will be admitted. Please also note that University of Oulu does not accept SAT Superscore.

Applicant must obtain a minimum of total score of 1050 in the following SAT categories:

1. Evidence Based Reading and Writing, and
2. Mathematics

Information Processing Science, Degree Programme in Digitalisation, Computing and Electronics, Bachelor and Master of Science (3y+2y)

Applicant must obtain a minimum of total score of 1050 in the following SAT categories:

1. Evidence Based Reading and Writing, and
2. Mathematics

Electronics and Communications Engineering, Degree Programme in Digitalisation, Computing and Electronics, Bachelor and Master of Science (Technology) (3y+2y)

Applicant must obtain a minimum of total score of 1050 in the following SAT categories:

1. Evidence Based Reading and Writing, and
2. Mathematics

Computer Science and Engineering, Degree Programme in Digitalisation, Computing and Electronics, Bachelor and Master of Science (Technology) (3y+2y)

Applicant must obtain a minimum of total score of 1050 in the following SAT categories:

ACT Test Results for Bachelor's Programmes at The University of Oulu

In one of our Bachelor's programmes applicants applying with qualification other than the Finnish matriculation examination, IB-, EB- or DIA-/RP-degree are selected based on their SAT or ACT test results. If you wish to apply using SAT test results, please see instructions for SAT above. The programme using ACT test results along with SAT is:

• International Business Management, Bachelor's Programme in International Business Management, Bachelor of Science (Economics and Business Administration) (3+2 y)

Please note that this is the only one of our Bachelor's programmes using ACT as one of their selection methods. If you are applying to one of our three other Bachelor's programmes (and have not completed a Finnish matriculation examination, IB-, EB- or DIA-/RP-degree), you must use your SAT test results instead.
