Research group description

We collect, synthesize, and deliver high-quality, evidence-based information to support decision-making, knowledge-driven management, and best working practices. Our research aims to improve healthcare quality—including outcomes, safety, and patient satisfaction—while enhancing access and reducing costs.

The specific objectives are as follows:

  • Identify unmet clinical needs in health services
  • Design and develop new health services to improve access, efficiency, and quality of care
  • Analyze the context, mechanisms, and outcomes of these services
  • Assess the cost-effectiveness of health services

Our preclinical and clinical research spans laboratory, intervention, registry, survey, and qualitative studies. Evaluation methods include experimental, comparative, observational, and descriptive designs.

Data collection focuses on patient-specific health outcomes, patient experiences, psychometrically validated instruments (e.g., VBQ, VBOS), and cost data to support value-based healthcare.

We apply diverse analytical approaches, including meta-analysis, data aggregation, content analysis, and AI- and machine learning-driven methods.

Our multidisciplinary team collaborates with Finnish and international partners from companies, hospitals, universities, and research organizations.
