In the workshop Living in Japan & Finland, the students broadly study Finnish and Japanese cultures and analyze Finnish and Japanese societies from a student perspective: what sort of knowledge one needs when planning an exchange and what is useful for one to know about local customs. The students work in small groups concentrating on different themes with an outcome of information packages with useful tips and fun details to make living and studying in Japan or Finland even more comfortable. Post-Doctoral researcher Erkki T. Lassila will instruct the workshop in 2019.
In the workshop 2018, the students worked in small groups concentrating on different themes with an outcome of eight different information packages in relation to housing and communication, food culture, running things, moving around, studying, free time and hobbies, what to do in case of emergency, and bucket lists.
