The ArcticCube serves as the meeting point and as an information channel about the Arctic and northern issues related to the University of Oulu's students and staff. As its name indicates, the ArcticCube is a glass cube, decorated with motives related to the Arctic. ArcticCube is located in the central lobby area of the Tellus Innovation Arena, in the heart of the University of Oulu's Linnanmaa campus and is open throughout the year in 2018. The aim of the ArcticCube is to spread knowledge about arctic and northern issues, research and education conducted at and with University of Oulu among the students and staff.
During the year, several events and workshops for staff and students will take place at the ArcticCube and the Tellus Innovation Arena. Outside of pre-set events, ArcticCube is in free use for quiet work and meetings, and also various kinds of information and promotion materials about current arctic issues are available for those who visit the ArcticCube.

Venue: ArcticCube, Tellus Innovation Arena. 3.-13.9.2018 ASAD Exhibition: Made with the Arctic
Venue: TellUs Innovation Arena. The exhibition provides an opportunity to meet some outcomes of UArctic’s Arctic Sustainable Arts and Design (ASAD) thematic network’s activities in Canada, Finland, Norway, USA, Russia and Scotland. The Arctic Sustainable Arts and Design (ASAD) is a Thematic Network that aims to identify and share contemporary and innovative practices in teaching, learning, research and knowledge exchange in the fields of arts, design and visual culture education. Members of the network include 26 art and design institutions and art education universities across the circumpolar area. The network provides opportunities to combine traditional knowledge with contemporary academic knowledge cultures in northern academic institutions. More information: http://www.asadnetwork.org/
11.4. 2018 klo 13.00-14:00 UArctic Congress 2018 recruitment event for students
Venue: TellUs Innovation Arena (ArcticCube & Aspire). A recruitment event for the students of the University of Oulu to invite volunteers to work in one of the biggest scientific events taking place at Oulu on 3-6 September 2018: The UArctic Congress 2018. In the event, information is provided on what kinds of volunteers are needed in the event and what do the volunteers gain by working for the congress.

Call for Student Nomination: The 4th Korea Arctic Academy, July 5-14, 2018
UArctic and the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) are pleased to announce an opportunity for 20 students from UArctic member institutions (incl. University of Oulu) in Arctic States to participate in the 4th Korea Arctic Academy in Korea - a 10 day study program in July 5-14, 2018 at KMI together with students from Korean universities. The Program will include lectures on Arctic issues (4 to 5 days) given by international or Korean experts, and field trips (3 to 4 days) to Arctic related organizations, research institutions, and industrial sites in Korea. University of Oulu will nominate two of its students to the academy. Students with an indigenous background will be given preference and the program is open to students of all academic backgrounds. If you are interested to apply to represent University of Oulu in the academy, submit a CV (should include email address and telephone number) and motivation letter (approx. 600 characters) in one file to Anastasia.Emelyanova@uarctic.org by 21st March, 2018.
