Eetu Laukka
Eetu Laukka is a doctoral researcher in the Perception Engineering Group at the University of Oulu. His research combines extended reality (XR), robotics, and human perception to explore how people can comfortably experience and interact with remote environments. His doctoral work focuses on immersive robotic telepresence, developing and evaluating locomotion methods that use virtual environments and real-time 3D reconstruction to enable teleportation-based navigation through physical spaces. Through human-subject experiments, he investigates how these methods influence cybersickness, workload, task performance, and user preferences. His broader interests include designing immersive technologies that account for human perceptual capabilities and bringing these technologies into practical, real-world use.
