SOLOGS-project aims to low carbon social and healthcare services

SOLOGS - Low Carbon Logistics in Local Social and Health Care Services” -project continues healthcare related research collaboration between Geoinformatics and Logistics in University of Oulu.

The project is funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Coronaria Hoitoketju Oy and a number of public healthcare actors in Northern Ostrobothnia.

Methodologically SOLOGS applies both interviews and focus-group discussions as well as geographic information systems (GIS) based accessibility and location-allocation analysis.

The first phase of the project has focused on finding new optimal sites for primary healthcare services in view of potential public transport travels, passenger car travels and a combination of both users.
