I work as a university lecturer in sociology at the university of Oulu. I have a PhD in Educational sciences and a Master's degree in Sociology.
My research interests include childhood and youth studies, namely children's and young people's participation possibilities, for example, in youth councils and school councils. Furthermore, family sociology and interaction between home and school are at the center of my research. Lately, I have worked in the field of (critical) sociology of digitalization. My current research aims at understanding how the school administration program WILMA, widely used in Finnish basic education, constructs the relations between students, school personnel and guardians.
