Coded delinquency data during 1988-1998.
Target population:Cohort cases alive at 15 years: N = 11 778.
Data obtained: N = 309.
To every cohort case was given a new special id-number which were together with their birth identity number sent to The Finland's Department of Justice. They exctracted data records from their files of cases they found and wrote that new id-number on to the file, cryptographed the file and sent it to the head of the study. The equivalence list with original and new id-number was cryptographed and saved in a safe place which as well as the password is only known by the head of the cohort-study. The papers were coded into number codes by senior researcher and after that the file was cryptographed and saved in the safe place only known by the head of the study.
