Doctoral candidates Jaana Isohätälä and Márta Sobocinski have been selected for four-year doctoral student positions at the University of Oulu. The positions are funded by the Eudaimonia doctoral programme of human sciences (http://www.oulu.fi/eudaimonia/doctoral_program). Altogether 135 applications were submitted for the Eudamonia programme and 10 applicants were selected. In her PhD research Jaana Isohätälä examines social interaction in face-to-face group work situations. Her goal is to investigate what kind of interactions lead to successful collaborative learning. Márta Sobocinski plans to explore patterns of regulation in collaborative learning situation using novel methods and technologies. Her aim is to find indicators of challenges and following regulation in collaborative learning using real-time measures.
