Welcome to participate the Nuclear energy field trip, Thursday, November 1st (all day) and Friday, November 2nd (all day)
The purpose of the trip is to introduce students to different aspects of the nuclear energy production life cycle in Finland by visiting two of the most representative sites: Pyhäjoki and Olkiluoto.
- Pyhäjoki, located approximately 100 km south of Oulu, is the designated site of the Hanhikivi 1 power plant where extensive construction work for infrastructure and auxiliary buildings is currently under way.
- Olkiluoto, in Eurajoki, is the location of one of the two currently operating nuclear power stations in Finland, including two operating reactors and a third soon to be operational; furthermore, it is the location for the Onkalo spent nuclear fuel repository currently under construction
Students can register filling in the registration form.
